Through My Eyes is a very personal project I have been working on for a few months. When I was a child, I was diagnosed with ADHD. Most people might think of it as a negative thing, and although I have had many struggles realted to my disorder, I never thought of it as a bad thing. In fact, I tend to think of it as a great thing, especially when it comes to the way I see the world.

When the average person looks around the world, whether it be on their daily commute to work or out the window of a hotel in a foreign land, what do they see? Most likely, the answer is not a fascinating world with beautiful colors and designs all around us. However, that is the world that I see. When I look up at the sky, I am amazed with the fascinating colors and shapes and the way the sky is constantly in a state of flux. When I am a passenger in a car, or on a train, and can stare out the window forever and be mystified by the wonders of the world.

The reason I titled this project Through My Eyes is because I want people to see the world that I see everyday: with exaggerated colors, imaginative designs, awe-inspiring depth, fascinating creations and changes. Too many times I feel like people don't appreciate the beauty of the earth, but rather tend to focus on the ugly and run-down parts of Earth created by humans. We shouldn't quite ignore the ugly parts of the world, because they matter too, but I often find myself wondering why other people aren't as in love with the Earth as I am. Although I blame what I will call my "Earth optimism" on ADHD, I invite others to take some time to observe the earth and hopefully realize that it is more majestic than we give it credit for.

I am hoping that with this project people will be able to see and think about our world in a different lightlike the way I see it. By altering the colors of the photos I have made them resemble, as closely as I can, the way the world appears to me. Colors aren't muted or shy, instead they are vibrant and full of life, reminding us that this Earth is infact a work of art itself. So go forth, open your eyes to the beauty hiding all around you, and start to see the world a little differently.
